When Hillary and Obama hear this, they will be outraged!
President-elect Trump has finally decided Giuliani’s position in his new cabinet.
Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is reportedly President-elect Donald Trump’s first choice to be secretary of state in the Trump administration next year.
AP reports that a Trump official speaking on anonymity late Monday evening insisted there was no other competition for the job and it would be up to Giuliani to accept or reject the offer.
Giuliani, an ardent Trump surrogate throughout the presidential campaign, was first rumored to be considered as attorney general until he publicly stated at a recent Wall Street Journal CEO Council event in Washington that he would not consider the position.
Former Speaker and fellow Trump surrogate Newt Gingrich told Fox News host Megyn Kelly on The Kelly File Monday night, “I have no information, but if Rudy wants it, he’ll get it.”
He added, “I think it’ll be fabulous to have him as secretary of state.”
Trump’s transition team says Trump is set to meet with Vice President-elect Mike Pence on Tuesday to solidify senior staff and cabinet picks for the incoming administration.
Spokesman Jason Miller told reporters the meeting will take place at Trump Tower and that narrowing down the list of potential picks is a top priority for the team.
