This election season, Congressman Trey Gowdy received the excellent news that he had been re-elected for a fourth term representing upstate South Carolina. As it turns out, he may never serve that fourth term.
According to reports from Conservative 101, he is a finalist for an important position in President-elect Donald Trump’s Administration.
Several names have surfaced as potential choices for U.S. Attorney General, and Trey Gowdy is at the top of the list—in strong competition with the likes of Rudy Giuliani.
Gowdy did not say whether he would accept the position if it was offered to him, but he said the follow about his role in Washington: “The voters have given us the greatest privilege in democratic republican, which is the opportunity to govern.”
“It is imperative we keep our word to the American people and govern in a way worthy of their respect,” Gowdy continued. “Voters spoke in loud, clear terms and those entrusted with the opportunity to serve should listen and hear with equal clarity.”
What do you think? Should Trump pick Gowdy for his administration?
